4-H Youth Development in Monroe County
By far, 4-H is the most known and visible Extension development program, best known for its 4-H Clubs and summer 4-H Camps, but Extension also offers literacy and adult volunteer leadership programming related to 4-H and youth development.
Monroe County has a strong tradition of 4-H Club work
dating back a century to the first Corn Club at Pickaway organized by the Monroe County Superintendent of Schools.
Today Monroe County has twelve community and special interest clubs providing youth development opportunities to over 200 4-H club members. Clubs are active in the following communities:

Greenville
Hans Creek
Peterstown
Pickaway
Sinks Grove
Union
Waiteville
